Two characterful gites in the Tarn Valley with large heated swimming pool and amazing views
A little piece of paradise in southern France.......
La Caze Gites are La Cardabelle, which has three bedrooms sleeping 6, and La Violette, a two bedroom property sleeping 4/5. The gites are located in a small hamlet above the very picturesque Tarn Valley, just 2 minutes away from the pretty village of Broquies in the Parc Naturel Regional des Grands Causses. Broquies has several shops including a baker's, butcher's, mini-market and post office, a tennis court and a lively fete in the summer. The larger, bustling town of St Affrique, with its fabulous Saturday market full of regional products, is only 25 minutes away.
Views from La Caze Gites over the surrounding countryside are simply breathtaking. Both gites are authentically restored from a 19th century Aveyron barn with many original features, but at the same time having all home comforts and facilities such as fibre WiFi, satellite TV and DVD player, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. Beds have luxury microfibre toppers and we use Egyptian cotton bed linen. Each gite has its own private south-facing sun terrace, with barbecue, overlooking the garden and 11m x 5m heated swimming pool, of which guests enjoy exclusive use, with views of approximately 40km across the Tarn Valley to the Lacaune mountains. The Gites have their own petanque court and table tennis table. Bikes are provided and guests can also play croquet and other outdoor games.
Whilst on holiday at La Caze you can choose to simply relax and unwind in beautiful, peaceful, rural surroundings or spend some time sightseeing around the small nearby villages or larger historic towns, such as Albi, Rodez and Millau (home to the now famous viaduct). The stunning Gorges des Raspes du Tarn is literally on the doorstep and there are numerous fortified villages and chateaux to explore in the area. If you are feeling more energetic the area is ideal for walking and other activities, such as river and lake swimming, canoeing, cycling, horse riding, parascending and fishing, can be enjoyed. La Caze Gites are also the perfect base for special interest holidays, for example photography, bird watching, mountain biking and hiking.
Joanne and Jon, your hosts at La Caze, live in the farmhouse next door to the Gites. We bought La Caze Gites in early 2016 and gave the accommodation a fresh new look. Our aim is to ensure all our guests enjoy a wonderful holiday. We are available to share our experience of the local area and advise on places to visit and things to do. Jon is a trained chef and guests can choose to have a delicious table d'hote meal served to them in their gite.
